Jamie kindly offered SemiSecret Gardeners anytime access to the hose on the backside of the house. Gus showed me exactly where it was.
“Oh, in the garage?” I asked as we approached.
“No,” said Gus. “In the portico.”
You’ll find the hose on a dolly. If you roll it just a few feet out into the open, Jamie says, the hose should easily reach the garden.

While we’ve been dutifully eating our fruits and vegetables all these years, a strange thing has been happening to our produce. It’s losing its nutrients.
Climbing hydrangea might be a good choice for the chainlink fence. It might even be what’s on the fence behind the bakers’ garage.
